A fun race with a Parkrun atmosphere
This is a very well organised event, with friendly people, excellent food and drink, an interesting course and a supportive, happy atmosphere. Everyone applauds finishers as they run the final straight and cross the line, and the start/finish area is dog friendly if you have canine supporters. There is ample parking just a couple of minutes' walk from the start line. Registration, collecting t-shirts, water, goodie bags etc. all runs very smoothly, and results are published online, along with certificates of completion, within a few hours of the event finishing. The course is pleasant, with some paved sections, some woodland paths and a lot of grass. There isn't much up and down. The only difficulty was that the ground had been baked, so the stretches next to fields had very hard, rutted tractor tyre marks, which was quite tough on the ankles and feet. It's absolutely not something that should put you off, but keep it in mind when choosing your footwear. Overall, this is a wonderful event, and I loved running in it.

I have cancer and mid radiotherapy - was nice to have a 3k which was accessible - and to support ACT and Maggie's.

Time to get rid of medals for all, since we do know that we consume too much 'stuff'. It is time to stop giving out stuff that goes straight to landfill. Sausage sandwiches are a brilliant idea. Better than medals!

Variety of terrains, beware of the hilly section towards the end!
It would have been most useful to have a map of the course (Plotaroute or something similar) with a virtual lap. I didn't bring/wear my hybrid-trail shoes as I thought it was going to be a road race. With the little bit of rain and lots of grassy and wooded sections, I would have felt more secure with my other running shoes. Because I didn't have them, I felt I had to be a bit more cautious where the ground was uneven, which cost me a few seconds for my estimated completion time. It would also have been useful to see a race clock/timer at the finish. Apart from that, it was a nice atmosphere and was well organised with the warm up and clear instructions and prompt start.
