enjoyable

Very disappointing that the event ran out of water at the finish, looked like around 30 runners did not get any

Zillion apologies about the water. This will be fixed for 2026.

Variety of terrains, beware of the hilly section towards the end!

It would have been most useful to have a map of the course (Plotaroute or something similar) with a virtual lap. I didn't bring/wear my hybrid-trail shoes as I thought it was going to be a road race. With the little bit of rain and lots of grassy and wooded sections, I would have felt more secure with my other running shoes. Because I didn't have them, I felt I had to be a bit more cautious where the ground was uneven, which cost me a few seconds for my estimated completion time. It would also have been useful to see a race clock/timer at the finish. Apart from that, it was a nice atmosphere and was well organised with the warm up and clear instructions and prompt start.

We do describe the courses as mixed terrain but will make it clearer in our communications. Thanks for the review.

A fun and straightforward event

I really enjoyed this event and loved the simplicity of the starting process and it being clear where to register and drop bags etc. Additional amenities like a coffee van were much appreciated.

- For new starters I feel a quick overview of the course would be useful. Simple things like stating there would be markers at each km, you would find marshals at key turning points etc.
- Once you crossed the finish line, the only way to get back to your belongs at the bag drop was to cross back over the finish line in the face of runners trying to finish. If the start/finish line wasn’t exactly in line with the fence then finishers would be able to move where they needed to without obstructing any runners still competing.
- It might have been mentioned prior to the race but I wasn’t aware that there would be a mini ceremony for those who finished top 3. I finished 2nd in the men’s 10k and only because I hung around for somebody else did I realise there was a trophy.

Thank you to all volunteers for their efforts.

Well Organised event

Well organised event. Easy to find. Plenty of parking. Easy Registration. Single loop run. Mostly trail with odd areas of tarmac. Plenty of marshals along route. Nice medal.

Great local event

Please can you provide water at the end next year - (it was fine with no water on the route )

Apologies about the mix-up with the water. It will be fixed for this year, 2026. Thanks for the review.

Perfect as a local event, gathering serious runners, beginners, and kids.

Greater appeals from local pubs and vendors would be better, with purchasing opportunities with discount... or discount ticket to a pub/restaurant?

Fantastic inclusive family event - great route and well organised.

It’s a shame there was no water on the way round, though I was expecting that.
It’s even more of a shame that the water at the end ran out - there wasn’t enough to go round. I didn’t need a mouse mat, but I really did need a drink of water.

Good

10k runners should be distinguished from 3k runners, different bib colours. Races prizes should also be set in categories as age group as well not just gender. It was also unfair that both winners of 3k were adults with a race dog attached to them and that was helping them race quicker . It was also not safe for the very young kids in the race.

Organiser comment:

Thanks for the review and suggestion. We will have a separate prize for canine assisted runners in 2026. The bibs were different for the 3k and 10k.

Good event overall

Returning to this event after a few years I found it a well organised, supported event which was also friendly. However, being one of the last runners on this occasion I was very disappointed to find there were no goodie bags left. When I asked why I was told, ‘Our company can only afford 250’. I did find this a rather poor excuse as these bags plus water was clearly advertised for all participants. Luckily my friend and I had brought our own water but feel slower runners who may have struggled more would need vital refreshments at the end. Thankfully the Red Lion had not skimped on the hospitality so we enjoyed our bacon sarnies plus a mug and pen from Dartington, thank you.

Thanks for coming back and many apologies about the goody bags and water. We will fix the water issue for this year. We hope to see you again in September.

Fab fun friendly run!

Loved every minute of it. Happy friendly Marshall’s and lovely scenery. Nice amount of people as not too big.
